Half Marathon Training Day #1: Fartleks

Fartleks: funny name, serious stuff. Fartlek, in Swedish, means “speed play” and is an interval technique that changes your pace regularly throughout the training session.

Session:

24 min 6x 2min surges and 2 min easy run in-between.

Results:

  • Average Heart Rate: 167
  • Max Heart Rate: 188
  • Calories Burned: 474

Struggled early, but got through it. Post workout endorphins were great.
